Builder Training for the Gilbertson Oahu Manis Home

The Gilbertson Oahu Manis project connects a custom home in Lanikai, Hawaii, with house inspection and builder training in Bali. For readers considering Bali prefab homes for Hawaii, it offers a project reference focused on the people involved in bringing a home to completion.

Design and Inspection in Bali

Bale Maker began design and construction in late 2011 for Russ and Wendy Gilbertson. Oahu Manis was described as one of the company’s newer designs at the time.

During their house inspection in Bali in 2012, the owners expressed strong appreciation for the quality and standard of the custom home.

Training the Builder and Supporting the Oahu Team

The owners sent their on-site builder to Bali for one week of intensive training. They also flew one of Bale Maker’s expatriate trainers to Oahu to help train the local building team and get work started on site.

The team, led by David Farkash and architect Aulden Badenhop, completed the house in February 2013. Bale Maker reports that the home attracted local interest for its quality and how it blended with Lanikai’s tropical surroundings.
